CPR/AED — Introduction, Primary Approach, Life-threatening emergencies:

• Know the content and objectives of the training, the challenges of CPR and airway clearance

• Awareness of the importance of CPR, guidelines, causes of cardiac arrest, angina, stroke

• Quickly recognize the type of victim, validate effective breathing and apply the correct intervention techniques according to primary assessment

• Life-threatening emergencies: angina/chest pain, stroke, opioid overdose — recognize, interpret, intervene

Chest compressions, Ventilations, Defibrillation, Special cases:

• Proper compression techniques for adults, children and infants according to the latest national standards

• Proper ventilation techniques — mouth-to-mouth, pocket mask, face shield — for all victims

• Safe use of the AED, its risks and its particularities with infants

• Special cases: traumatic care, optional ventilations in cardiac arrest, legal responsibilities of the first responder

• Mobile application: assistance in real emergencies and during practice sessions

Demonstrations and practice — CPR adult, child, infant / AO:

• Master the complete CPR sequence with AED for adult, child and infant with 1 rescuer

• AO in adults, children, victims of different body types and infants — conscious or unconscious

First aid – Anaphylaxis:

• Definition of anaphylaxis, allergens, signs and symptoms, physiological reactions

• Effects of epinephrine, injection techniques, clinical protocol, how auto-injectors work

• Interpret a clinical situation and master a complete intervention on an anaphylactic victim

The approach and medical primary survey allows safe assessment of the scene, level of consciousness, respiratory and circulatory functions, interpretation of the level of orientation and guidance toward the correct protocols.

• Understand and recognize the signs and symptoms of a person victim of psychological distress

• Learn the proper intervention techniques, interpret a clinical situation and intervene on a victim in a situation of psychological distress

• Foreword: principles of traumatic intervention, do not move a victim except in particular uncontrolled-risk situations

• Approach and primary survey – TRAUMATIC: hazards, cervical/spinal immobilization, primary assessment, management of vital functions (A, B, C)

• Reminders of the principles of traumatic intervention and the reasons not to move a victim

• Know the particular situations requiring the rescuer to move a victim

• Apply methods that respect the principles of traumatic intervention

• Adequately move a trauma victim threatened by an uncontrolled-risk situation

• Learn the techniques for applying the START triage method

• Learn the basics of an intervention in an emergency involving multiple casualties

• Be able to provide assistance to a triage leader in an emergency where the number of victims exceeds the number of responders

• Understand the benefits of oxygen therapy in a first aid context

• Know the conditions immediately requiring supplemental oxygen and the equipment needed for its administration

• Learn the proper techniques for using therapeutic oxygen and storage safety measures

• Recognize emergency situations requiring oxygen supplementation and the dangers associated with its use

• Awareness of continuing education and the importance of skill refresher training
