Becoming a foster parent in Oklahoma means providing a safe home to a child in state care through the Department of Human Services. Being prepared for a medical emergency, through recognized first-aid and CPR training, is part of caring for a child in placement.
急救要求
In Oklahoma, foster parents complete pre-service training through OKDHS, and first-aid and CPR certification is required for specialized foster care providers; for traditional Bridge resource families, a current first-aid and CPR certificate is commonly required by the agency before a placement. It ensures caregivers can respond to injuries, choking and cardiac arrest.
This is recognized by the Oklahoma Department of Human Services (OKDHS) and its contracted agencies, and the certificate must be kept current from a recognized organization. It is one requirement in addition to the pre-service training, the home study and the assessment of parenting suitability.
